Handmade by Martha's handmade hair slides

I love to be able to make a hairslide that matches an outfit and that is completely unique!
I try to differ each set of slides that I make and tailor make them to people's requests for colour combo's or to celebrate different occasions... Hair slides to go with specific outfits or something a bit different for school!
I am currently selling my handmade slides at £2.50 for a set of two.
If you would like to order any, please get in touch! If you e mail me then I will get back to you asap!

A tricky decision...

After lots of positive feedback about Handmade by Martha's trial slides, it has been decided that sets of two matching slides are now £3 for a set of two and between £3-£4 for custom made slides (depending on the design wanted). Individual slides will be priced depending on design but at around a price of £2. I have found it very hard to decide on the price, as they need to be affordable, but after lots of market research, feedback and costings of all my materials I do feel it is still a very reasonable price for two unique, handmade, quality hairslides. I hope you all agree and I would much appreciate any feedback from everyone! Especially people who have bought slides for the little girls in their lives! Thank you in advance, Lynsey

Best of British...

I have been a busy bee over the last few days and even managed a couple of hours child free time at the weekend to get on with my Jubilee / Team GB collection. My mum, the very talented Mavis Glover, had been an absolute star earlier in the week and had sewn on a million buttons onto a variety of red, white and blue ribbons! Thanks Mum!
My task was to make up a selection of Jubilee slides in time for the celebrations happening in nurseries, playgroups and schools in the next week and in time for the bank holiday Street Parties and festivities...
I worked really hard to create a seleciton of about 30 sets of slides and about 12 individual slides which used bigger buttons. I had some fabulous ribbons and my favourite was the little soldier ribbon - the sets of these were so popular that they didn't even make it onto my facebook page before being snapped up!
If you get chance, take a look at the album on facebook... www.facebook.com/handmadebymartha2

Here are some pictures of my creations... let me know what you think!

I also made some lovely little bows for my friends little girl, Maisy. Emma brought round a selection of Maisy's fabulous tops and I made some to match.

Blue bows

Last week at playgroup when I delivered my purple bows to one of the mum's, a few of the other mums and childminders were having a look and wanted some blue ones for their little girls to go with their school uniforms! Here are my deliveries for today and then I am going to get on with making my stock up and ready and making Maisy and Freya's slides... Lots of ribbons, buttons and bows for me! :)

Simple things :)

I came home from work today to my new button stash :)
Jubilee colours and more tiny buttons for my bows! My lovely friend Emma also bought me some gorgeous blue flower buttons and some little purple hearts - so kind!

A few of my creations so far...

I tend to make Martha a matching slide for each of her (many!) outfits! Here are a few of them...

My first few orders...

A few weeks ago, my friend from secondary school asked me if i could make her gorgeous girls a few sets of slides to match their school uniforms!
I also made a delivery of a selection of slides, in a lovely Cadbury purple to go with a school uniform of a little girl starting school nursery in September!
Through word of mouth at playgroup, I have now got my next couple of school uniform orders!
I also have an order for one of my closest friends who brought round a selection of her daughters outfits round for me to custom make to match! All very exciting! Now, time to get creative...

Confessions of a ribbons-a-holic!

I find it really tricky to find nice ribbons for my little girl, Martha. So I have decided I would make my own! I like to have them matching her outfits, which means I have become a bit of a ribbon-a-holic! I am always on the look out for new ribbons and little buttons!
I am not a very organised person, and am regularly found, glue gun in hand, creating a new slide at half 7 in the morning to go with Martha's outfit for that day! As I was this morning to go with the bargain shirt I got her in m and s yesterday!

After a few 'orders' from friends, I have now decided to start up my own little sideline! Just have to make sure that I make time to make them, not just buying the ribbon and buttons!
